A diesel fuel injector manufacturer –

– and existing Huffman Corporation customer – needed to relocate some production grinding machines. The customer needed to build up enough inventory to ensure his customers would be supplied while the machines were being relocated. We configured our production machines to produce the same part, to the same high-quality standards, helping the customer build inventory and supply production parts while the production machines were being moved.

CASE STUDY #2

A turbine engine component supplier —

made the strategic decision to manufacture components in-house rather than to buy and resell. Without sufficient internal resources and infrastructure to start manufacturing, the customer called on us to design and develop a full, turnkey manufacturing process. Due to unforeseen delays, the customer then engaged us to carry on with initial part production.

The customer enjoyed the benefits of Huffman Corporation's grinding technology without yet actually possessing the equipment. When the customer's infrastructure was in place, the entire system and proven process was transferred to his facility, where it was placed into production within days of its arrival.

A turbine component repair and overhaul company —

keen on the technical and commercial benefits of our laser powder fusion welding (laser cladding) process had an insufficient volume of business to justify an investment in a new laser cladding system. We were there to help with a new process validation, FAA qualification and to start with short-run production to help ramp up business volume. When the business volume supported it, the decision to purchase a system was easy. It was based on proven, demonstrated technical and commercial results.
